May 29, 2009 - FSC is an independent, nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. The FSC Eco Flooring collection has three categories: • A 3/8-inch-thick plank that’s 3 inches or 5 inches wide with a smooth face of oak and birch, • A 1/2-inch by 5-inch plank with an antique finish and pillow-sanded edges for a soft distressed look featuring acacia, hickory, elm or birch; and • A 1/2-inch by 5-inch true hand-scraped product. In addition to carrying the FSC certification, this new line utilizes the eco-friendly, E-0 standard glues which are used in the pressing / manufacturing of the product. Products compliant under the E-0 standard contain no urea-added formaldehyde glue, and therefore are not detrimental to stringent indoor air quality standards required for most green building programs, including the LEED EQ4.4 credit. CMH Space is also proud to announce “Green Source”; a logo used to identify all CMH Space products that contain legitimate green attributes. In the near future, qualifying product samples will carry this logo.
